Indian leg spin guru tips Kaneria better prospect for Pakistan
Pakistan Times Sports Desk

MULTAN: Renowned Indian leg spin Guru Anil Kumble Friday tipped his young counterpart from Pakistan Danish Kaneria as a better prospect for Pakistan team.

"I have seen him bowling. He looks good, attacking", said Kumble who fortified Indian bowling by rejoining his team after missing one day international series against Pakistan due to shoulder injury.

Indian Team Manager Ratnakar Shetty and spokesman Amrit Mathur were also present during the press conference held after Indian team's practice session in the nets.

Danish Kaneria also lauded Kumble but rejected there could be any comparison between the two saying the celebrated leg spinner from India was a senior bowler while he has just started his career.

Both right arm leg spinners were recalled by their teams for Test series and are likely to show their skills during the forthcoming Tests.

Kaneria said, he saw Anil Kumble taking ten wickets against Pakistan. He said, Anil also bowls flippers and googlies often. "It was my desire to play against a better team and I will try to be a match-winning bowler if given a chance", said Kaneria whose best performance was against Bangladesh in 2001 when he had claimed 12 wickets for 94 in the inaugural Test of the Asian Test Championship. He had also taken five wickets in a Test against South Africa which Pakistan had won.

Anil Kumble said, "As a bowler you need variety in your deliveries." He said, the injury he did receive was not of a serious nature from which he has recovered now. "I am just trying to get my rhythm back and I will be able to adjust", he added.

He said, conditions in Pakistan are somewhat different and challenging adding India has not played much against Pakistan particularly the Tests during last few years. Commenting on the wicket he said, it looks good, a good Test wicket.
