ISLAMABAD: A senior
official of the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday dismissed as
“fanciful” a report in an Indian publication which claimed
that Dr Abdul Qadir Khan had held two meetings with Osama bin
Laden in Kabul.
When his attention was drawn to the report by one Dominique
Lapierre and published in Indian Express, the official
rejected it as “fanciful and an attempt at fortune seeking by
creating sensation.”
The official also dismissed a report titled “Their Man in
Colombo” by B. Raman and published in the Indian magazine
“Outlook India” which alleged that Pakistani intelligence
agencies use external bases for covert operations against
India.
He described the report “a motivated piece full of wild
allegations and deliberately designed to spread disinformation
by an ex -RAW operator.”
He said the charge had been a familiar refrain from quarters
inimical to Pakistan and whose only agenda is to fuel
anti-Pakistan sentiments.
“The accusation that Pakistan’s High Commissioner-designate to
Colombo poses a national security threat to India is indeed
preposterous and should be dismissed with the contempt that it
deserves,” said the official.
