Committee, Amritsar and leader of the visiting Indian Sikh
Yatrees has said that government of Pakistan is spending
generous amount for the upkeep and maintenance of Gurdawaras
in Pakistan.
The Sikh Yatrees are currently on a visit to Pakistan on the
occasion of 398th death anniversary of fifth Guru of Sikhs
Guru Arjan Sing Dev Ji.
He was talking to ‘Pakistan Times’ Friday afternoon at the
local Railway Station before their departure for Hassan Abdal,
Gurdawara Punjab Sahib on the second leg of their ten-day tour
to Pakistan.
He said the government of Pakistan is ensuring round the year
maintenance and renovation of all the Sikh holy sites,
including the Janam Asthan, Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal, Sucha
Sauda (Farooqabad) in district Sheikhupura, Dera Sahib at
Lahore and Gurdwara Rorri Sahib at Eminaabad in the Gujranwala
district.
He observed that Pakistan authorities make new additions in
all Gurdwaras situated here, every year as disclosed to him by
the District Coordination officer, Sheikhupura, Najeeb Ullah
Tariq and Muhammad Afzal Shaheen, Deputy District Officer,
Revenue, Nankana Sahib at the time of their arrival here on
June 9.
Lauding the additions to
residential blocks in the premises of Gurdwara Janam Asthan,
including the new gate, a splendid fountain, the marble tiling
with huge amount, he said the sikh community was grateful to
Pakistan government under the leadership of President General
Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan
Jamali.
He said that he and his fellow men thanked the government of
Pakistan, Pakistan Gurdwara Parbandak Committee, Evacuee Trust
Property Board and the peoples of Pakistan for making
excellent arrangements for them.
The visiting Indian Sikh yatres will return to Lahore to
attend the main function of this tour from Hassan Abdal on
June 14 at Gurdwara Dera Sahib to attend Jore Mela and death
anniversary of their fifth Guru Arjan Sindh Dev Ji and will
leave for India on June 17.
They were seen off at the local Railway Station by Muhammad
Afzal Shaheen, Deputy District Officer, Revenue, Amer Khan,
Assistant District Officer, Revenue, Syed Shams ul Hassan, DSP
and Officials of ETPB.
