ISLAMABAD: Members of
Parliament, Muhammad Ijaz ul Haq and Babar Khan Ghauri were
sworn in as Federal Ministers at a ceremony at the
Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
President General Pervez Musharraf administered the oath of
office to the new members of the Federal Cabinet.
Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali was present at the
ceremony, which was also attended by Federal Ministers,
Federal Secretaries and senior officials. Later, the two
Ministers told mediamen that they would strive to serve the
country to the best of their abilities.
PML (Z) Chief Ijaz has been
given the portfolio of Religious Affairs while MQM leader
Babar got the Communication ministry.
Notification
Meanwhile, the Cabinet Secretariat, Cabinet Division Tuesday
issued notification for induction of two more Minister to the
Federal Cabinet.
President Pervez Musharraf, in exercise of the powers
conferred by clause (1) of Article 92 of the Constitution of
the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on advice of the Prime
Minister, has appointed Babar Khan Ghauri and Muhammed Ijaz ul
Haq as Federal Ministers, says the notification.
The Federal Ministers were administered the oath of office by
the President in the Tuesday afternoon, March 23.
