'Pakistan Day' celebrated in Kashmir with zest
By Altaf Hamid Rao - Pakistan Times AJK Bureau Chief

MIRPUR (Azad Kashmir): With a dazzling zest to affix their destiny with Pakistan at all costs, gallant people, dwelling all-over the Himalayan State of Jammu n’ Kashmir celebrated the sanctified Pakistan Day Tuesday with a newest resolve to smash the manacles of the tyrannical Indian invaders, making them quit the illegitimately held part of the paradise on earth instantaneously.

Special Prayers

The day dawned with special prayers at Fajr, in the masques on both sides of the fragile LoC, standing between the kin, by bowing before Almighty Allah, The Most Gracious n’ The Most Merciful for the evaporation of the obstacle so that the Kashmiris could establish interaction with each other freely, which is palpable only with the exit of the intruders, the Indian troops from the occupied Jammu n’ Kashmir.

They also prayed for the translation into reality of the resolution of July the 19th in 1947 — adopted at the Srinagar residence of Sardar Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, wherein the pragmatically represented 70-stalwarts assemblage of Kashmiris—with Ch. Hamidullah Khan in the chair—had resolved with one voice to link the destiny of the State with Pakistan alone ‘because the heartbeat of Kashmiris has been, is and would continue to remain synchronized with their Pakistan brethren alone.

The people of the Jammu Kashmir state – living in Azad Kashmir and Indian held Kashmir plus elsewhere simultaneously prayed for the stability, security, affluence and swift progress of Pakistan and for the early success of the Kashmiri’s freedom movement.

Azad Kashmir

In Azad Jammu Kashmir all observed the day in a befitting manner. Pakistani flags were hoisted atop small and major private and public buildings. Various private social, political and public representative organizations managed special programmes to celebrate the day.

All the three Azad Jammu Kashmir radio stations of Mirpur, Muzaffarabad and Tararkheil brought on air special programmes highlighting the importance of the day besides broadcasting special messages of the AJK President and the Prime Minister. The special Pakistan day ceremonies were held in various cities of the liberated territory which were the hallmark of the day. Speakers in these ceremonies highlighted the importance of the day.

Indian Occupied Kashmir

Reports reaching here Tuesday from across the Line of Control (LoC) revealed that in spite of extra ordinary security measures coupled with restrictions and ban on gatherings, imposed by the Indian occupation forces as previous, people in various parts of the occupied Jammu Kashmir, particularly in the Muslim-dominated Kashmir valley and several parts of the Jammu region celebrated the Independence Day of Pakistan enthusiastically and in a befitting manner to reiterate their fullest solidarity and love with Pakistan since they consider Islamic Republic of Pakistan their sole destination in all respect.

People in the occupied Jammu Kashmir hoisted Pakistan’s national flag atop their houses at various places, the report revealed. The Indian security forces, according to the reports, had taken stringent measures to foil the attempt of the occupied Kashmir people to hoist the Pakistan flag on their buildings on the occasion of the Independence Day.

Hurriyat extends greetings

Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat (Liberation) Conference extending heartiest greetings to the people of Pakistan on "Pakistan Day" reiterated that stability of Islamic Republic of Pakistan was imperative for the solidarity of whole Muslim Ummah and a lasting solution to the Kashmir problem.

APHC spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that Pakistan is the only country of the world, which has been steadfastly and very effectively advocating the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people. The Kashmiris are highly obliged to their Pakistani brethren for their support and whole heartedly desire peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan, the spokesman said.

Defence of Pakistan's ideological frontiers was essential for protection of its geographical frontiers, Hurriyat spokesman said. He prayed that Pakistan becomes a fortress of Islam as conceived by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal where justice prevailed and each citizen enjoyed equal right to live in peace irrespective of difference of religion, caste or creed.
