Pakistan-British talks on extradition treaty next Month

LAHORE: Pakistan and the United Kingdom will hold talks next month to discuss the prospects of a bilateral extradition treaty, said Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat here Saturday.

Talking to newsmen the Minister said that the possibilities of signing of extradition treaty was among three issues discussed during his meeting with the British Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw who visited Pakistan recently.

The other issues discussed with Straw, he said, were the frequent travel advice issued by the British government for its citizens regarding visit to Pakistan and the efforts to curb the menace of drug trafficking.

Faisal said that the United Kingdom had expressed its willingness to sign an extradition treaty with Pakistan.
