Ummah's Dilemmas to hallmark Pakistan-Saudi Talks ● Musharraf performs Umra

MAKKAH (Saudi Arabia): President Pervez Musharraf who arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, would explore redressal of problems being confronted by Muslim Ummah during his talks with Saudi leaders Saturday.

During his visit to Saudi Arabia, matters pertaining to mutual interests, regional cooperation and international situation would come under discussion. Indo-Pak relations would too come under discussion.

Performs Umra

President General Pervez Musharraf performed Umra in Makkah Saturday evening. He also offered Maghrib and Isha prayers at the Haram Sharif.

Amid recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, the Door of Holy Khana Kaaba was opened for the Predisent and his entourage where they offered Nawafil, a rare, unique and blessed moment of time for every faithful, Muslim.

The President and his entourage prayed for the progress and prosperity of the country and well-being of the nation and unity of Muslim Ummah.

The President is accompanied by First Lady Sehba Musharraf, Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmud Kasuri, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, Minister for Information Technology Awais Ahmad Leghari and Minister of State for Defence Production Habibullah Waraich.

Reception

Earlier on arrival in Jeddah, the President was received by the Governor of Jeddah, Prince Mashaal bin Majid, Pakistan Ambassador in Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Mirza and senior embassy officials.

President Musharraf was given a warm send off when he left Islamabad for Jeddah earlier in the day.

The President and his entuage will also pay Salam at the Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH) in Madina-e-Munawara.

Special Significance


President Musharraf's two-day visit to Saudi Arabia has special significance as a follow-up of Crown Prince Abdullah’s visit to Pakistan in October last year during which both countries had shown common concern on various issues facing the Muslim Ummah.

The two brotherly countries have a common stand on various international issues.

Saudi Arabia has extended an instant help to Pakistan whenever Islamabad needed such an assist. There exist estraordinary brotherly ties between the peoples of the two countries.
