KARACHI: Pakistan
International Airlines has completed the arrangements to
increase the flight frequency between Pakistan and India from
existing six to twelve under its summer schedule.
At present PIA is operating two flights a week to Bombay and
four to Delhi and this number will be doubled from March 25
when the national carrier will be handling five flights to
Bombay and 7 to Delhi.
It may be mentioned here that PIA had been operating 12
flights a week before the suspension of air services between
the two countries.
Spacious Aircraft
However, prior to the start of the new summer schedule, the
PIA has made arrangements to operate bigger aircrafts to
accommodate any number of Indian cricket fans wanting to come
to Pakistan to watch the forthcoming test and one day
encounters between the two arch rivals.
PIA spokesman, Imran Gardezi told 'Pakistan Times' that
in case the existing aircraft capacity falls short, the
airline will replace the machine with a bigger one.
Presently the PIA is operating its flights to India through
Airbus. However, if the number of spectators from India goes
up, the plane could be replaced with a Jumbo aircraft.
