KARACHI: The 10th
SAARCLAW ended here with Karachi declaration, which calls for
an effective judicial system to curb corruption and
favouritism.
The declaration was read out by President of SAARCLAW
conference Pakistani chapter, which stresses member countries
for strengthening supremacy of law and providing quick justice
to the masses.
The declaration also called for collective efforts for quick
disposal of the pending cases in the courts and appointment of
judges through a transparent and independent manner. The
declaration emphasized upon the need of institutions for the
training of people related to legal practice and making
primary training compulsory by amending the judicial service
rules.
The Chief Justices of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan
and Nepal addressed the valedictory SAARCLAW conference
session. A Supreme Court judge of India represented the Chief
Justice of India. They said that the problems of SAARC
Countries were of the similar nature and collective efforts
should be taken to resolve such problems.
