ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Air Force observed the first anniversary of Kohat Air
Tragedy here Friday in a solemn way. Wreath laying ceremonies
on the graves of Shuhada-e-Kohat were held at 10 in the
morning.
Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat, Chief of the Air Staff laid
wreaths on the graves of Shaheed Air Chief Marshal and Begum
Mushaf Ali Mir at Lahore.
While on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, senior PAF
officers laid floral wreaths on the graves of Air Vice Marshal
Abdul Razzaq at Wah Bhachran (Minawali), Air Vice Marshal
Saleem A Nawaz and Air Commodore Raja Rizwan at Islamabad, Air
Commodore Javid Sabir and Wing Commander Tabassum Abbas at
Chaklala, Rawalpindi, Group Captain Aftab Cheema at Sargodha,
Squadron Leader Ahmed Yousaf at Chiniot, Squadron Leader
Mumtaz Kiani at Abottabad Squadron Leader Abdur-Reb at Karak,
Corporal technician Amjad Pervaiz at Jhelum, Senior Technician
Muhammad Khan at Rawalpindi, Senior Technician Ghazanfar at
Gujrat, Corporal Technician Muhammaed Fiyaz at Swabi, Corporal
technician Ashraf at Chakwal and Corporal Technician Khush
Qadam at Gilgit.
Quran Khawani for
Eesaal-Sawab of the Shuhada was held at all the Air Bases of
Pakistan Air Force and at Air Headquarters Islamabad. All
personnel of PAF, and families and friends of Shuhada attended
the Quran Khawani. On anniversary day, some institutions and
places were also renamed after Shuhada Kohat.
The observance of
anniversary by Pakistan Air Force is a tribute to Shuhada of
Kohat Air Crash, for the valuable and dedicated services
rendered by them for PAF and the country.
