Massive Demos as Indian troops kill 3 more in Held-Kashmir
Pakistan Times Kashmir Desk

SRINAGAR (Indian Held-Kashmir): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian troops in their continued acts of state terrorism, martyred Friday three more Kashmiri youth in a fake encounter in Mandi area of Poonch district.

Big anti-India demonstration was held in Kokarnag area in Islamabad district, in protest against custodial killing of a civilian. The demonstrators staged a sit-in, in front of the Deputy Commissioner office, in Islamabad, and demanded impartial probe into this brutality.

50 teachers injured in police baton charge

Continuing their protest for the third consecutive day and undeterred by police lathi-charge on them, teachers again took out a protest rally and attempted to march towards the Civil Secretariat in Jammu, reports Kashmir Media Service.

A total of 50 teachers were injured, six of them critically, when police resorted to lathi-charge on them to thwart their attempt to march towards Civil Secretariat. A large number of teachers under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum and All J&K Graduate and Post-Graduate Teachers Forum gathered at Hari Singh Higher Secondary School and started marching towards Civil Secretariat. But they were stopped by heavy contingent of police at city chowk where barricades were already raised to prevent teachers from moving forward. The violent teachers managed to break the human chain of the police personnel and crossed over the barricades.

Later, the protesting teachers staged dharna on the Shalamar Road. They made it clear that lathi-charge would not prevent them from protesting against the neglect of their demands. Later, All J&K Graduate and Post Graduate Teachers Forum in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Abdul Qayoom Wani unanimously decided that struggle would continue till demands were conceeded.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Teachers' Forum (JKTF) chairman, Abdul Qayoom Wani, along with a large number of teachers, who were arrested yesterday during a protest demonstration and lodged in the district police lines, Jammu, have started hunger strike.

Demonstrations against custodial killing

People of Kokernag in Islamabad district took to roads to protest against the custodial killing of a civilian.

Residents said that troops of 34 RR cordoned a house and forced a 25 year old youth Nazir Ahmad son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din to accompany them. The residents said that troops afterwards shot dead Nazir without any provocation.

They staged a sit-in dharna and blocked the vehicular movement on the road. The residents staged massive protest demonstration in front of Deputy Commissioner's office and demanded a probe into the incident.
